Let's Get

Uncomfortable

Elevating Voices, Challenging Boundaries, and meeting people Redefining Running Culture

WHO ARE WE? WHAT IS LET'S GET UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT?

Listen to the Conversation

Running is often seen as the most inclusive sport—requiring only a body, movement, and determination. But a deeper look reveals disparities in access, safety, representation, and opportunity.

Let’s Get Uncomfortable was created to bring these conversations into the open. From social justice and community activism to industry influence and personal identity, each episode examines how running intersects with the real world.

We ask difficult questions, confront bias, and spotlight the people pushing the culture of running forward.

Why This Podcast Matters

The inequalities exposed during the COVID-19 pandemic—and tragedies like the 2020 murder of Ahmaud Arbery—revealed that not every runner experiences freedom and safety the same way.

This podcast exists to:

  • Amplify historically marginalized voices in running
  • Encourage honest dialogue around privilege, power, and access
  • Explore how the running industry can evolve toward equity and inclusion
  • Inspire listeners to reflect, learn, and take action in their own communities

New York City’s deep running history serves as our starting line, connecting stories from around the world.
